The Cyber Corporation: Cyberpunk 2020-2024 - Features new characters, corporations, and a new city. And the quality of the narrative is one reason I can't easily place "Blood Music" in the nanotechnology or cyberpunk traditions which it is said to have kicked off. This is an all-too-short adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's much longer and far more ambitious manga, loaded with stylized violence and bleak, decaying landscapes. The more accurate commentary on our real world is the hybrid in which the elites of human society experience their utopias but the majority of the population is subjected to a sort of dystopia in comparison with the elites’ society.

It has that quality of being huge and small at the same time—and noble. Dreampunk is influenced by other punk genres such as steampunk and cyberpunk but also from more classical literary genres, mythology, process-oriented psychology, Jungian Archetypes and shamanic traditions. The highlight of the film is it’s strange, almost hallucinogenic ending. "Death Note" This dark psychological thriller based on the anime series of the same name follows Light Yagami, a boy who comes into possession of a Death Note, a supernatural notebook used by a death god to list, and subsequently kill any person on earth. "Casshern" A visually stunning Japanese science fiction movie based on the 1973 anime “Neo-Human Casshern,” this film follows Tetsuya, a man given extraordinary powers through an experimental battle armor.

How did the Sprawl, a megalopolis stretching from Atlanta to Boston, originate? I suspect I would have been equally capable of saying, Fuck it, I’m going to Vietnam. The Greg Egan mentioned above; Schild's ladder is a fascinating book, very far out in terms of science and the way that science changes societies. His escape from what he felt the constraining culture of the 1950s and 1960s was the science fiction novels of authors like William Burroughs and Henry Miller.
